Divine Demarcation

Funnily juxtaposed with the sunny disposition of this design is the mysterious revelation that accompanies it at a time that I candidly confess, was anything but sunny.

If anything at all, it has been fiery.

A fiery trial, some would say.

Going through something like this is not something I would opt for, but when the enemy does wage war, I gang up with Jesus.

Because He wins every battle he ever wages.

So at the very onset of this trial, I prayed to the Lord, friends; and asked Him to not only get me through the string of the impossible situations that seemingly stood like giants before me that came up overnight, but also bring me out with greater spiritual fruit than I had when I went in.

It’s literally how the Lord makes the devil pay.

So I decided to cash in on this Truth.

Today I write to you as a child of God with concrete evidence in her hands that God is Good, God does Good and God works all things together for our good and His great glory.

As He has safely brought me through this trial, friends; I have had to understand the difference between what I felt and what I knew to be Truth at another level.

I will explain as we go on.

With a high value for the revelation-light of Truth, friends; I love it when the Lord makes a wonderful invitation for us to seek Him throughout the pages of Scripture, and one of my most deeply personal favorite verses is thus,

“He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.”

(Daniel 2:22)

So when everything came up under siege overnight, I mentally scanned the Truth thatthe Lord had already deposited in my spirit.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

(Romans 8:28)

If this is true and it is, so the only valid question to ask was,

If this is what the enemy has done, Lord; then how do You want to redefine this narrative according to Your Promise of Romans 8:28?

How will You work all this together for my good and Your glory?

I heard the Lord say,

“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

(Matthew 19:26)

Each time that I doubted the Lord during my trek through this trial, the Holy Spirit would gently remind me of this Truth from Matthew 19:26.

I tried to remember the memorial stones that the Lord enabled me to pick up especially this year. Calling to mind testimonies of the Lord’s faithfulness is a sure fire way to stir up faith at a time when little else is needed.

As I would do this along with confessing the Promises of the Lord over my life, I found myself in battle. On the one hand, I knew God was Faithful. He saw me through then, He will see me through now.

But it was also at this precise juncture that the enemy tried to intimidate me with the size of the giant in front of me. I have slain giants before with the Lord, but this one?

I suddenly wasn’t too sure.

On a particularly anxious day, I stumbled over a podcast from Christine Caine. She said something that I felt was straight from the heart of God. I made a note of it. The next day, the message from the Lord’s heart again caught my attention as Christine shared precisely the same thought on her Insta page.

Let me paste it below for you.

It struck home.

I felt bolts of lightning go off in my head as I realised the Truth that it was never the size of the giant in my life that determined my destiny. Rather, it was the size of my God that did.

The God in me. The God through me. The God around me.

With new found faith, I found the courage to believe again. Putting my hands in the hands of Jesus, I decided to let Him walk me through this and teach me everything that was on His heart for me.

After all, this giant may be too big for me. But it was nothing compared to the bigness of my God.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

(Exodus 14:14)

Because it is the Lord who fights for me, I need only to be still…

What does that mean?

I believe that what the Lord was and still is saying through this is that because it is Him who fights for me, I have no need to be anxious about anything. The enemy is already defeated in Jesus’ Name, and the irrevocable victory of the Cross is already my portion in Christ. Therefore, the outcomes of my life situations and circumstances are already secure in the hands of my God.

But what about the process?

This is where friends, I believe we really get to meet Jesus face-to-face.
The Lord is a God of process. As surely as He kept affirming me that He would bring about my complete deliverance and vindication, He also lovingly exhorted me to commit my way to Him so thatit could align with His right way forward.

So, in response to this perfectly wise Father, I released my process to Him.

And I learnt much.

So much more than before, friends.

With more insights in my spirit, more humility in my heart and more dependency on the Lord; I had many more arrows in my quiver.

Allow me to repeat myself.

This is how Jesus makes the devil pay.

Jesus started to emphatically teach me that though His Promise of victory will see to it that I come out on the other side stronger than I was when I went in, it does not mean that my feelings will magically line up.

More often than not, they don’t.

Though my spirit knows the Truth, my soul is often having a fit.

So what do I do?

I learn to demarcate between spirit and soul.

Between what I know to be the Truth based on what God is saying v/s the feelings that I am currently having which are based on the facts of my temporal circumstances.

As believers in Christ, we are given authority by the Lord to challenge the facts of our current circumstances by declaring the Truth of what God is saying.

Therefore, it naturally follows that the temporary state of my temporal circumstances is just that – temporal. It is now in fact, subject to change according to the eternal, everlasting Truth of God’s Word that will not only come to pass, but will endure forever.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

(2 Corinthians 4:18)

So what I am getting at is this:

When we are willing to acknowledge our opinions and feelings for what they really are – just feelings and opinions – and readily exchange them with the Truth of what God says, then it is a sign that our soul is coming into alignment with God and is thus, being saved.

My soul  says that this is how I am feeling _______________________________ .

But it is also willing to admit that these are just feelings, it is NOT Truth. Just because our feelings are real does not mean that they are right. They are after all, only feelings based on facts. But facts change because God moves in alignment with Truth, and eventually manifests it.

So even though I felt the giant was too big, I knew that it was no match for the bigness of my God. Even though I felt it was the end of everything, I knew that in the Kingdom, it was only a new beginning. Even though I felt abandoned and forsaken, I knew I was never alone for Jesus was with me every step of the way.

Feelings v/s Truth.

A divine demarcation.

So I am learning that the degree to which we are humble enough to admit that how we feel is not based on reality because reality is only determined by what our Holy God says,is the degree to which we will be able to trade them in for Truth and be healed, whole, saved, contented and at peace.

Coming out on the other side of the tunnel, I can attest to the fact that how we feel during a trial is often misleading. The only way through the valley of the shadow of death, is to hold on to the helm of His garment and fix our eyes on Jesus – the author and the perfector of our faith. As we humble ourselves under His mighty hand, He promises to take us by the hand and lead us forward, step-by-step, into His promise for our victory.

And as He does?

Our pit becomes our pulpit
Our test becomes our testimony
Our mess becomes our message
And our trial becomes our triumph!

So as I draw to a close, friend; I will leave you in the Presence of the Lord with one question:

What mountain are you needing Him to move on your behalf today? How can you learn to partner with Him as He unfolds your triumph?

Let me lead you into a prayer to get started.

“Dear Lord Jesus,

I thank You that because of Your finished work on the Cross on my behalf, I am now a partaker of Your Victory, on earth as it is in Heaven. I thank You that in the power of Your Name, the enemy is defeated and I am now seated at Your right hand in heavenly places.

I thank You that You are the Sovereign Lord with whom nothing is impossible. So I ask, Lord that You would help me walk in Your promised victory for my life in the context of the challenges that are confronting me in this present day, time and season of my life.

I invite You to enlighten the eyes of my understanding by Your Spirit so that I can learn to partner effectively with You. Teach me to embrace the process of growth that You have for me through this phase. I trust that because You are fighting for me, I can surrender all my anxiety for Your Perfect Peace.

I also ask for Your help with my emotions and feelings in the process, Lord. As You hold the outcomes of my life securely in Your Faithful Hands, I declare that I will trust that despite what I feel, the Truth is that You have the power to do what You promise. Help my feelings to slowly line up with the Truth of that which You have spoken concerning me as Your Beloved Child and grace me to whole-heartedly receive it.

I thank You that You will not only see me through, Lord but make me better as a result of walking this out by faith in You.
Honor and praise belong to You!

In Your most Holy Name,
I pray,
Amen.”

He fights for you, beloved.

Miracles in the mundane

I got these yellow cookies the other day. In India, we call them ‘besan-elaichi’ biscuits.

I didn’t plan on getting myself any cookies really. I had a simple plan for the day. But how many of us know that some of the best things in life aren’t really planned?

Not my encounters with Jesus. And not my spontaneous shopping spree.

Nope.

None of these things are planned, because I believe that our Good Good Father loves to hide good good gifts in our days as we journey on with Christ.

It was a smooth flow of the Spirit that saw a simple plan morph into a delightful evening.

An evening that had me hold out these delectable yellow cookies as a testimony of God’s Goodness for some of the most beautiful moments of discovery are what our Father hides in the seemingly mundane.

In the everyday business of our day-to-day life is precisely where we come face-to-face with the Father’s business.

Whose primary business is to shape us into the image of the first born of all creation, Christ Jesus.

The hope of glory.

He dwells within. He stands behind. He goes before.

He enfolds us within His warm, tender, protective embrace and as He moves on our hearts, we find ourselves heeding His still, small voice deep within and His gentle whispers of loving truth that beckon us to pay heed to the beauty in the brokenness, to the fruit in the barren place, to the rainbow in the clouds…

…Till the spontaneous flow of the Spirit through an unsuspecting, simple plan forges great delight in the soul and tiny blossoms of favour cause the peace and joy of believing to take root deeper still.

…Till the natural testifies to the eternal, and yellow cookies speak to the early signs of His plans and purposes bursting forth.

…Till the vineyard of our love is an uncluttered and free wide open space for the King of glory to take up residence in; and the seemingly mundane becomes an act of God worship.

…Till moments spent savouring ‘besan-elaichi’ cookies collected in The Cookie Jar become a kind of memorial stone resembling the kinds that the Israelites assembled together to attest to the faithfulness of God as they crossed the River Jordon on dry ground.

On the way to their Promised Land- a land flowing with milk and honey.

Transitions are often like that, I’m learning.

You don’t know what’s up ahead but what you DO know is that the land is good, simply because our Good Good Father delights in giving good good gifts to His children.

And no.

Giants in the promised land don’t intimidate us any longer.

Because our Father’s primary business is to shape us into the image of the first born of all creation, Jesus Christ, it turns out that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

And The Cookie Jar testifies.

To the beauty in the brokenness, to the fruit in the barren place, to the rainbow in the clouds…

The Pentecost P’s

“Passion, Power and Purity.”

It was Pentecost Sunday yesterday, friends.

I was exhilarated to spend time with the Lord on a day when the wonderful sweet, precious Holy Spirit of God was sent from Heaven into the Earth nearly 2000 years ago.

However, I am intrigued as I ponder the fact that the same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives on the inside of me. And having being released in response to the prayers and intercession of the disciples of the Lord as they all gathered with one accord to bombard Heaven, He now lives in me.

It’s so beautiful to note here that Heaven was invaded by earth first, before earth was ever invaded by Heaven.

The disciples wanted what the Lord had died to give them, and they wanted it not only for themselves but also for the world they were called to shift the trajectory of.

They were passionate about the faith, moved in power and were marked by purity. Signs, wonders and miracles were the norm. Healing and deliverance was at hand for all. Salvation had finally come.

As the last days church, I believe that’s what the Lord is doing within and amongst us as He brings about the restoration and fulfilment of all things according to the counsel of His will.

I couldn’t be more ecstatic really.

In the midst of the whirlwind of the world right now, He is calling us to a place of deeper intimacy with Him, to be a people marked by the fire of His Presence.

Because His Presence is where we meet with His glory.

His Presence is where we encounter His passion for us that ignites the flame of passion within us. His Presence is where we we begin to understand His power that enables us to come to terms with our own. His Presence is where we come face to face with the purity of His selfless, sacrificial love that empowers us to lay our own lives down to see His Kingdom come.

It’s all about the Presence, friends.

As we make our way into the week ahead, let us run into His Presence. Let us sit at the feet of Jesus and let Him mark us, make us and mould us.

With Passion, Power and Purity.

Hallelujah 🙌🏼

Breathe Miracles!

Christ in us is the hope of glory.

I believe that in the wake of a most unprecedented season of our souls, not only is our King doing a new thing, He is doing it from the inside out. His kingdom has to first work its way into our hearts and then into the world that we are called to. It’s new wine being poured into new wine skins where we can trust Him to restore all things, but according to the new thing that He has in His mind and heart for us.

What better way to align our hearts with His than to get into His majestic presence and let worship pave the way forward, working miracles first within our hearts and then for all the world to see.

If this resonates with you even remotely, friend; then I hope you’ll make the time to check out this worship song by Red Rocks called,

“Breathe miracles.”

You won’t be the same.

That’s what Grace is.

Hallelujah 🙌🏻

Amen👑

Whether it’s old longings that need to come to fruition or fresh passions that need to be birthed, praise is the highway that not only paves the way, but even fills the space between what has been and what is yet to come.

“For the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:10)

As we ponder on the miracles He has performed in the year past and make our way into a brand new one, I pray that bringing to remembrance all those times that He made a way, created a miracle, bridged the gap, opened the door, kept a promise and held us close will strengthen our hearts and fortify our faith to believe that if He has been so faithful with things in the past (and He remains unchanging) then He will continue to remain faithful with things to come.

So let us declare the praises of Him whose promises are “Yes” and “Amen.”

Amen?

I believe so.

Travelling well.

“We never have to be anxious about our future, because as we are travelling, it is unraveling.”

The other day, I was a bit anxious about my future as I pondered that its something always uncertain. We never know what lies ahead, but I realized that I do know The One who does know. So, I decided to spend some time with Him. I took my Bible and went downstairs in the cool, evening breeze and sat on something that looks like a ledge. God is the Source of all comfort, and as is the norm with Him, He came through. Let me share what He revealed,

“If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.” (Matthew 6:25-26. MSG)

When I first received my copy of The Bible, nearly eleven years back, it was the section on “Do Not Worry” that captivated me the most. Truly, if God cares even for the birds of the air, how much more does He care for us? Little by little, I read on and God kept speaking. The next few years were defining as I met Jesus and couldn’t resist but surrender to a Love that promised me more than I could imagine. As I look back at my journey, it never ceases to amaze me.

The Word of God informs us that He cares so much for us that He sent Jesus to die a gruesome death on The Cross at Calvary to prove it. His resurrection paved the way for us to receive The Holy Spirit, who is our guide at all times. He is our inner compass. He is the one who can help us navigate the issues of life in the best possible manner. Slowly but surely, information became revelation. Since then, I may have my moments of doubt or anxiety, but I know that I am forever changed for The Love of God has left me dumbfounded.

As I write, I realize the futility of anxiety. We may feel it, but it does not have to define us. What defines us is Who made us in His own image and even before releasing us into this world, made plans to prosper us and give us a hope. He does not reveal all things at once, for what would we need faith for then? On what grounds would we cultivate our relationship with God? What conversations would we have? How would we learn to stand, to wait, to listen, to yield, to obey? How would we grow and develop in wisdom and stature? Would life really be interesting?

I don’t think so. I think what makes our life meaningful and interesting is our relationship with Our Creator. I think His big plan was to enable us to walk this journey with His Precious Son, Jesus who would anoint us, guide us, comfort us and be in constant fellowship through The Spirit He has given us. The Holy Spirit gives us revelation knowledge, but He does that only one step at a time. Staying in step with Him has taught me to remain tethered to Jesus and be sensitive to what HE is doing, as opposed to what we want to see happen. All His promises are ‘Yes’ and ‘Amen,’ but they all come with a process attached, for it is in the process that we get to become more and more like Him – which is the big plan!

Though it is quite futile to worry about a future, that God, in His Infinite Wisdom and Agape Love, has prepared for us even before laying the foundations of The Earth; yet, in our human frailty, we still do. It is comforting at such times to remind ourselves of something that is commonly used, but never ceases to lose the potency of,

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32, NIV)

Friends, the blessing is already prepared. It is us who are being prepared for the blessing. Whatever God has called us to, laid on our hearts and given us an insatiable passion to believe for; He will certainly bring to pass. The process, however, is what He needs us to partner with Him in – something which is a joy and a privilege. I often think it’s like watching my Father work and build, I simply get to lay the bricks.

This sentiment paints a sublime picture of fellowship where we travel together on this beautiful journey called life. If there is anything more beautiful, it is this. With Jesus, we get to travel with lightness, freedom, peace and joy for His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He never puts more on us than we can bear. It’s not in His nature for He is the Lover of our souls. His Words come to mind as I continue,

“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” (Matthew 16:26, NIV)

It is abundantly clear that God’s main purpose is to bring about an authentic heart and soul transformation, in and through a relationship with Christ Jesus, so that we can have the character and stature necessary to fulfill the call that He has placed on our lives, a call that needs us to encounter Jesus as Love so we can be love; as Grace so we can be grace, as Mercy so we can be mercy to the world that is around and about us, a world that we are called to touch and transform, but only to the extent that we ourselves have been.

The roles we have in our lifetime, whether we are parents, teachers, artists or entrepreneurs; serve as platforms for our Purpose to manifest. The degree to which we can do justice to this sacred privilege that comes guised as Purpose depends on how well we travel with Jesus. In my experience, the more I remain conscious that The God of Eternity dwells in my midst, the more I am assured that, as Christine Caine so aptly puts it;

“The same God who saw me this far is the same God who will see me further still.” (I think I paraphrased it!)

Looking back at my journey, I now see His miracle working power at work throughout my life. I am sure that if this resonates with you, then together we can resolve that the next time we feel anxious or uncertain of what lies ahead, all that we have to do is look back. Look back at the times that He moved mountains, parted seas, broke down the gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. Look back with awe, wonder and astonishment at His Majesty, and allow the profound sentiments that thus emanate to linger on in our deepest crevices, till we know beyond a shadow of doubt, that we never have to be anxious about our future, because as we are travelling, it is unraveling.

Slowly, but surely.

Blessings.

The Source

“Affirmations may come from outside, but instructions will always come from within.”

As I continue to walk with God, I have reached a point where I realize that what He has downloaded from Heaven is the Truth of the times and seasons I find myself in. The signs, wonders and miracles are wonderful confirmations, but I believe it is imperative to have received our instruction FIRST from Him through The Spirit He has put on the inside of us, and let the affirmations in our respective environments be just that. Affirmations that validate what we sense and eventually, come to a place of conviction about that which God has spoken.

We serve a God who always speaks to us a Word concerning our well being in every facet of our life; our health, our families, our work, our relationships, our finances, our marriages. This is why it is vital that when at times we find ourselves confused, dazed, puzzled, lost or even in transition; that we need to run, as Joyce Meyers says, to the Throne, and not the phone. Don’t get me wrong. I am a big believer in the power of Godly wisdom and counsel that comes through His chosen vessels in our lives, a belief that is, in fact, even a Biblical Truth. Let me share,

“For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure.”

Clearly, relationships are our greatest resource, and the right ones will always point us to The Source. Our God. We cannot substitute our relationship with God for anything else. It is in the context of a thriving relationship with Our Savior through the power of The Holy Spirit that we are positioned to receive instruction that has the potential to alter the course of the rest of our lives. His thoughts are higher, His ways are beyond understanding. So, when we do seek Him for a Word of direction, more often than not, it will be something which we may have overlooked, but can never hide from The One who loves us more than we can fathom. He may not always give us the instruction we are looking for, and on the contrary, He may just speak concerning that which you had no intentions to address. But God.

It’s just like Him to work through the issues of our heart, mind and soul in order that we may be well positioned to receive all that He has prepared for us.

It is these gaping holes in our lives which we tend to avoid that God engages us in; for when addressed, healed and restored; it is these very parameters which will prove to be bridges and not barriers to our Destiny, blessings not curses, life not death. In our natural strength, we may feel there is no way. THAT is why we need faith. Because Our God promises us something,

“I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Hence, we need not run away from heeding His instruction. Rather, let us pray for the courage to embrace a challenge that only a Father who knows the potential of His Child can pose.

I remember Oprah sharing on one of the episodes that cover things like if you could turn back time, what would you say to the younger version of you. Amongst many other things, what really hit home with me is the following disclosure,

“Manage to hold on to your belief in God, and more importantly, God’s belief in you.”

Yes. He trusts us. He loves us. He inspires us. He challenges us. He molds us. He holds us.

With such a Loving Father leading us on, cliched as it may sound, let prayer be our FIRST response, and not our last resort. Let Him speak to us, and let His Voice be the loudest, even though it’s usually a still, small whisper. Let His Word really be a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path. Let His Spirit sweep through our inmost being with such revelation knowledge that doubt, apprehension, and hesitation have to flee; leaving us empowered to follow through with what he has spoken in as undaunted a way as possible.

When thus positioned; we will realize that the signs, wonders and miracles that are being sent from The Heaven’s above are a confirmation to an instruction that we have received not from a resource, but from THE SOURCE.

Amen.

Constant One

“Our stories may be different, but Our God is the same.”

In our walk with Christ, it is easy to succumb to the temptation of comparing not just our lives, but also our testimonies. It is easy to see someone else’s prayer answered and miracle made manifest, and instead of rejoicing with them, fall prey to the lie of self pity. It is easy to get distracted by what is happening in the lives of others while God is calling us to focus on our own. It is easy to get carried away by the success of others while undermining our own. And if I may take it a step further? It is sometimes easier to believe for others as opposed to ourselves.

We know that God can do it. The question remains, “WILL He do it? And will He do it for me?”

I am here to tell you that the Promises of God in Christ Jesus are for whomsoever will. If He can do something for someone, He can very well do it for you. But this will also require us to examine our prayer life with the Truth contained in the following Bible verse,

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.”

The question is simple. Is our will in alignment with His?

Are we believing for dreams and desires fulfilled only so we can enjoy a greater degree of comfort and convenience, or have we dared to dig deeper? Have we dared to ask for blessings so that WE can be a blessing? Have we dared to ask for tools and strategies to innovate and create that which will extend the reach of His Kingdom on The Earth, impacting multitudes upon multitudes? Have we dared to exercise the discipline needed to ask for divine alignments for divine assignments? Have we dared to pray for resources and relationships that will accomplish The Will of God in our lifetime?

Have we?

I know I always haven’t, but am open to learning and growing. I have been guilty of thinking that because someone was raised a particular way, in a specific environment, had a Master’s Degree, a consistent job, got the right spouse at the right time and so on and so forth; that God was able to move mightily. But I received course correction.

It is not that circumstances were lined up a certain way that God was able to do it. God was able to line up the circumstances in a way that would enable Him to do it.

My aha moment, no doubt.

Friends, God is not so much interested in our circumstances as He is in the spiritual condition of our hearts. I believe this calls for a check. Are we operating in faith or unbelief? Circumstances can crumble and change in a heartbeat, but the reason we usually have to walk it out is because He is testing to see whether we have our basics right. Are we elevating facts over Truth, and circumstances over God? Are we ruminating obsessively over questions like, “But how God?,” as opposed to decreeing and declaring The Truth that what is impossible with man is possible with God, and with God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.

I have come to realize that it is on purpose that God does a different work in each and every one of our lives, which is why it is futile to compare. We are all uniquely made and wired in a way that cannot be replicated ever again. THIS is why God will expose us to testimonies of miracles around us, not to shame us, but to provoke us to the possibility of what I like to call, “better.” However, our journey to “better” will require us to seek Him in our own unique, personal, one-on-one, intimate relationship with Him. Seeking Him will not give us a formula or a magic recipe to make things happen, because something more miraculous is ordained, which is a tethering of our soul to Our Savior over our lust for favorable circumstances. Herein is proven the veracity of God’s instruction to us,

“Seek ye first The Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Suffice to say the more we seek Him, the more we find out who we truly are , a revelation of which can accurately shape our dreams and desires in accordance with His.

Rest assured that the outcome is in Trustworthy Hands.

So, the next time you see your friend receive a promotion at work, your co-worker get married or your neighbor’s child turn to God; rejoice with them and to thine own heart, simply say;

“Our stories maybe different, but Our God is the same.”

The Seventh Day

“It is in the context of coming alive each day that we answer our Call.”

The magic is in the ordinary everyday. It is in waking up each day, taking in the sunshine, making your cup of coffee, reading The Bible, checking on your loved ones, and fulfilling those seemingly small, yet very significant tasks, that we begin to answer our Call. Our call to not just live, but live a Life More Abundant. What makes the difference is not “what” we do, rather “how” we do it. God loves a cheerful giver. The tasks that Our Maker has entrusted us with may seem mundane, but when added up, are monumental in their impact, not just in our lives, but also in the lives of those that are connected to us.

Breakthrough is imminent, when our daily walk with Him is consistent. However, what I do want to share is that let us live in a way that though we expect breakthroughs, we are not living FOR them. Rather, we ought to challenge ourselves to discover the joy of encountering His Presence in and through the process which will pave the way for the breakthrough. In doing so, we will find that we are actually living for HIM, seeking His Face, and not just His Hand.

I’m instantly reminded of the the way God breathed down the walls of Jericho. It is a perfect picture of how when we faithfully follow what He has spoken, even when it doesn’t make sense to our finite minds, that sets the stage for breakthroughs to come forth and miracles to manifest. But again, the magic lies in first doing the ordinary, which in this instance, looks a bit like taking laps around fortified walls of a city called Jericho for six days with armed men. Simply taking laps. Nothing spectacular or extraordinary about it. BUT, on the seventh day, look what happens;

“On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times.  The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city!  The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the Lord…”

“…When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city.  They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.”

God honors obedience. He could have given them permission to possess the land sooner than the seventh day. However, we serve a God who painstakingly labors with us, developing our spiritual muscles through the power of process. It is the process that positions us for the promise.

Friends, if you find yourselves taking laps around the same circumstances, the same prayers and the same situations; take heart! He is growing you and maturing you. He is teaching you to trust Him with every detail of your life and preparing you for expansion. He is anointing you for purposes specifically tailor made for you to fulfill. He is equipping you and empowering you. My only encouragement at this point is what The Word says,

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.”

You may be on your first day, your second day, or your sixth day; but as long as you keep taking those laps He is asking you to, guess what?

Your Seventh Day is just around the corner.

Selah.
