A bond that nothing can sever

You will either uproot it or make a way through it

You will either vindicate me or simply surround me

You will either snatch me out or walk me through it

Thus says Your Word.

You will either hide me or empower me
But You will never leave me nor forsake me
Thus says Your Word.

So I declare in turn,

Be it unto me according to Your Word.

A Fresh Surrender

A joyful surrender
With childlike trust
No need to ponder
For we will be left in wonder.

The days to come may look different
So help us in our readjustment
The process of change is best left fluid
For Your lead unto us is best suited.

Uncertain times held stoically in Your Hands
Relieve us of the need to know
As we yield to Your leading
We know we won’t be left bleeding.

For You already have
Once and for all
It’s only a curve in the road
For You’ve already mapped out the path.

Our walk together is constant but a bit different
It’s perhaps more close, more intimate, more dependent
Therein we find You are ever so close
Should we dare to draw near, You’ll chase away all our fear.

So help us come to You in our time of need
To receive the strength, wisdom and grace that You so willingly release
Help us cast our cares unto You
And trust in Your Lordship as we give in to You.

We rest because…

You aren’t only the Way Maker
You’re also The One who makes our ways straight
This maybe a Selah moment in history
But we believe You’re using it to weave a story.

It’s beyond our comprehension
But You fully have all our soul’s attention
All the more as we seek to surrender
To Your Love that perhaps more than ever we feel quite tender.

You have our faces in Your Hands
Held ever so close
Telling us, “do not worry”
All this that you see will flee in a flurry.

We aren’t concerned about the how and when
For we will walk with full confidence
Knowing we’re the sons and daughters
And our Father is The King of living waters.

Flowing freely from His bosom to ours
More than enough to sustain us in these hours
That do bring trepidation at times
But Your Spirit is quick to remind us of our Eternal paradigms.

We know You’re more than able
So quietly will You come and make us stable?
Through the winds and the waves
Because they still bow before Your Name.

who knows the pulse of His Child
The tempest may rage for now
But soon we believe you’ll render it mild.

So we lift our prayers and petitions
All the way up to The Heavens
Shooting straight to Your Heart
To give us a brand new start.

It may take a while
But we don’t mind
As long as You hold us close
All the praise we can muster simply flows.

Like sparkling streams of water
Make a way so glorious
That in hindsight we’ll see
That You really are about the business of setting us free.

It’s what The Cross represents
Love, Freedom, Purpose
The Champion of Heaven
We know You’re The One.

To redeem and restore
To vindicate and make whole
Taking our pieces into Your precious hands
For against all odds, it’s Your Love that withstands.

A relational journey

To everything, there is a season
And a purpose to every activity under the Heavens
But we don’t always need to know the purpose to follow You
For our purpose is to become just like You.

For through the fire, flood and storm
You lead us through it all
From glory to glory to glory
Even when the story seems a bit of a mystery.

You forge Your Character within us
Deep Love pouring in and creating deep trust
For it’s for relationship You died and rose
So You may deepen it for therein our dependency grows.

And as it does, we are set free
From the need to know it all
For in every circumstance, it’s Your wisdom we seek
The righteous may be bold, but we also know to be meek.

Humble enough to know Your thoughts are higher
Confident enough to know that we’re fully loved
A hedge of protection around our souls
We trust in You, Jehovah Shalom.
