A relational journey

To everything, there is a season
And a purpose to every activity under the Heavens
But we don’t always need to know the purpose to follow You
For our purpose is to become just like You.

For through the fire, flood and storm
You lead us through it all
From glory to glory to glory
Even when the story seems a bit of a mystery.

You forge Your Character within us
Deep Love pouring in and creating deep trust
For it’s for relationship You died and rose
So You may deepen it for therein our dependency grows.

And as it does, we are set free
From the need to know it all
For in every circumstance, it’s Your wisdom we seek
The righteous may be bold, but we also know to be meek.

Humble enough to know Your thoughts are higher
Confident enough to know that we’re fully loved
A hedge of protection around our souls
We trust in You, Jehovah Shalom.

We trust

A deep resonance of my being with Yours
Is the only thing that keeps me
In this day and hour
That the world is in utter chaos.

I’m grateful though
Through the ups and downs
And the highs and lows
I am enveloped by my Jehovah Shalom.

The keeper of my heart
His Love fights for me
So regardless of what may come
I will continue to trust in thee.

The world is changing
The Universe expanding
So help us to not shrink back
But move forward for we too are progressing.

Perhaps not on the outside
For You’re building us from deep within
Fortifying our faith and trust in You
For our confidence is found only in You.

Your Heart is still full
Your Name is all powerful
As Your children, we will rest
Even though we’ve been put to the test.

For we know we aren’t alone
You’ve made Your Home in us
Each step we take is a step with You
For we reckon Your Character to be true.

Midnight awakening

Good good gifts we receive from our Father
Things that this Earth cannot offer
Should we pause and remember
We will cherish forever.

The goodness of God
His faithfulness and loving kindness
That set us free and made us whole
And claimed us as His own.

He overcame the world for us
And now we shall overcome through Him
His Heart and Favour never do change
So we can be confident in the divine exchange.

That took place at Calvary
The finished work of The Cross
Beauty for ashes He promised
So in the storms of life, we really could be the calmest.

He too surrendered when it was painful
But He trusted in The Father who is Faithful
Secure in His Identity to the end
The Heavens His Love did rend.

Now that we’re one with our Father
Let us encourage one another
That whatever can shake perhaps will
But The Heart that came for us never will.

A bundle of Love

Like a bundle of leaves
We are held together
Within the green pastures of Your Love
As we brave the storms that You help us weather.

Each leaf may look tiny
But is significant for the price You paid
Each has its own unique place
In the bundle of sheaves that You have laid.

We’re all coming together
For such a time as this
Esther’s, Gideon’s and Caleb’s
Stepping into our Identity for Your Purpose that we cannot miss.

United through the bond of peace
Help us stand unshakeable
For though the wind may blow
Even the leaves are glued together.

Perhaps it’s the weight of Your glory
I do not know
But what I do know
Is that You’re the truest Person I know.

Love has paid the price

Your assurances never cease
They’re as endless as Your mercies
Should we pay attention, we’ll find
The precious thoughts that are in Your mind.

Your Sovereign Hand will be my guide
For Your Love has the final say
Whatever the journey looks like
I’m glad I get to do it with The One who promises to stay.

The enemy may have come in
But like a flood, You will raise a standard against him.
We are Your hands and feet
So teach us to move to the rhythm of Your beat.

The beat of love, grace and humility
Strengthening our community
Not giving him a foothold
For from us, it is grace You never withhold.

Our times are in Your Hands
That is our confidence
So we surrender all control to You
And simply trust in the infallibility of Your Permanence.

Thank You for being our anchor in the storm
Our strength when things have gone beyond the norm
Would You break the mould for us now?
For that, in essence, is in sync with Your ethos.

Quiet Strength

A river of healing and wholeness
Peace, rest and wellness
You generously offer us in our time of need
And as we give in, You exceed our expectations indeed.

Reviving and renewing us
You make Your own business
We pray we emerge stronger
Even if it takes a bit longer.

Things can get rocky
But we stand on The Rock that can withstand
Any threat of sabotage
So You may take our pieces and erect a mighty montage.

I feel the wind blowing past my face
Your Spirit riding on it
Taking away all my cares
For to you, I submit all my affairs.

This little bird chirping
Perhaps is a gentle reminder from You
That Your beauty still surrounds us
So we can wholly trust in You.

The Good Shepherd

The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd.
I always have more than enough.
He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.
His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss.
That’s where he restores and revives my life.
He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure
and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness
so that I can bring honor to his name.
Lord, even when your path takes me through
the valley of deepest darkness,
fear will never conquer me, for you already have!
You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way.
Your authority is my strength and my peace.
The comfort of your love takes away my fear.
I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.
You become my delicious feast
even when my enemies dare to fight.
You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit;
you give me all I can drink of you until my heart overflows.
So why would I fear the future?
For your goodness and love pursue me all the days of my life.
Then afterward, when my life is through,
I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you!
